Airport

The Shell Lake Municipal Airport is located in town on the shores of Shell Lake. runway

The newly paved runway is 3,700 ft long X 75 ft wide with displaced approach thresholds at each end.

The paved main ramp is spacious enough for Cubs to Jets, and a small turf parking area for lighter aircraft at the extreme NW end of the airport allows convenient walk-in access to several Shell Lake restaurants.

Tie-down rings are imbedded in each ramp but bring your own tie down ropes. The main ramp, runway and taxiways are plowed of snow and the airport is usable year round.

The Chuck Lewis Terminal building is open to the aviation public 24-hours a day. The terminal area is heated and has a restroom. Courtesy car is now available use. Call City Hall or Airport Manager for key.

The airport has a rotating beacon and pilot controlled runway lights, PAPI visual glide slope indicators, and runway end identification strobes (REILs) for runway 32. Instrument facilities include VOR-DME and GPS based approaches.

There are no fueling facilities. Land is available for hangars.
